The act of bringing a new life into the world, albeit joyous, can cause an immense amount of stress upon the mom-to-be. Doing so amidst a worldwide pandemic, however, is an experience in itself.
We cannot even fathom what that would be like. However, moms-to-be across the globe are doing so with utmost poise and grace, leaving us in admiration of the strength and power that a woman has when it comes to the well-being of her newborn baby.
One such warrior mom, Archana Ramakrishna was gracious enough to allow us on Cloudnine to be a part of her wonderful journey. Archana delivered her baby at Cloudnine Hospital, Bangalore, during the ongoing lockdown. Hailing from Singeri, Archana is currently a resident of Bangalore. She is a stay-at-home mom, devoting all of her time to her newborn baby. Apart from her new duties as a mother, she handles all the pressure at home and takes care of their home and family.
Amidst her busy schedule, Archana agreed to answer some of the questions we at Cloudnine had for her. She answered them with utmost warmth and patience and we on Cloudnine, love her even more for that. We would like to share some excerpts from our conversation with Archana.
My main reason for selecting Cloudnine were the positive reviews that I had heard about their services, and trust me, it was worth it. They had specific services for pregnant women during the lockdown such as video consultations, pick and drop facilities, home vaccination, among others. I was required to go into the hospital during the lockdown only twice, for consultations with my gynecologist.
However, both times, I was informed by the hospital of her presence in the hospital, as I was into the final term of my pregnancy. What was quite impressive for me was that even though there was a panic situation, full-term pregnancy situations were given a high priority by the doctors and staff at Cloudnine.
I had the best experience I could have asked for with my gynecologist, Dr Shashikala Hande. She is one of the most professional doctors I have ever had an experience with. She values your time and is always punctual, carrying on her commitments swiftly. She is very methodical in her approach; Our consultation with her started with her checking my weight, BP check, and foetal position in my womb. She also answered all questions that I had.
We’ve seen her juggle between attending to her regular patients and making occasional trips to the OT to attend to emergency cases. In spite of that, we have seen her maintain her calm and never lose her composure while attending to us. She has attended to us beyond her duty hours. We had a good relationship with her right from the day my pregnancy stick showed a second pink line.
The support staff at Cloudnine was also very cooperative and helpful right from day one. It is quite understandable why Cloudnine Hospitals has been ranked #1 in Gynaecology and Paediatrics in India.
Pregnancy is not a disease, so I would advise all moms -to- be to not treat it like one. Be active, be involved in household chores yourself, eat healthily and eat everything which is seasonal in nature. Take a walk in your apartment's corridors or terrace of your home. Keep yourself fit with prenatal exercises.
I would suggest ladies opt for a video consultation with your gynecologist at Cloudnine, if you do not have any scans or lab tests at hand or any discomfort which requires you to immediately see your gynecologist face to face.
We are glad you liked your experience on Cloudnine, Archana. We thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful journey and wish you all the best for the beautiful journey you have ahead of you. Needless to say, “Cloudnine loves you and is always there for you!”
