Doctors are in turmoil now due to the pandemic that has started raising havoc around the world. But now more than ever doctors need to stand beside doctors. This is the time of support and care for one and others around us. There are a lot of families who have come from other countries back to their families during this period. There are many who are stuck and cannot go back. Similarly, many are would-be mothers amongst these. They need help and care so that they don’t feel helpless during these times. We know moms.Dr. Amanbeer Kaur is amongst these NRI Warrior Moms who came back to India from England and availed our services at Cloudnine Chandigarh. She was blessed with a baby girl. Before she left, we had a chat with her.
Here are excerpts from our conversation:
Hi, I am Dr. Amanbeer Kaur and I am myself an Obstetrician. My husband and I were working in England when I conceived and we planned to move back to India to our family for help and support. We can say that our daughter was lucky for us and it is just because of her, we were back in India with our family in these tough times. My husband has been a perfect partner throughout this journey. My family and my in-laws gave me the utmost care and supported me throughout my pregnancy. I feel I am among those lucky people who could afford to spend time with their family during this pandemic.
My husband and I had already decided to move back to India for the time being and we had to choose a hospital for the whole duration. It was not a difficult decision for me to make as I was a doctor myself and I prioritized the availability of good doctors before anything else. Good doctors know how to calm a patient’s nerves and during crisis situations like this pandemic, it was imperative that I opt for only the best. Cloudnine Chandigarh had a well-equipped medical fraternity and so I opted for it. I had also been referred to Dr. Seema Sharma and was told she was an excellent doctor. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied with the experience.
Our initial ante-natal check-ups were not in India and we saw Dr. Seema for the first time in February this year. I am very happy that I chose Dr. Seema for the birth of my little girl. During the lockdown period, Dr. Seema was kind enough to see me in the hospital as well as give me advice over the phone. Video consultations were an excellent way to connect with Dr. Seema during this lockdown period. During our stay at the hospital, we felt at home. I couldn’t see my own mother but honestly, I was cared for by Cloudnine like a mother for her daughter. As we couldn't have visitors so getting food from home or outside was a big problem but at the hospital, the canteen services were too good. The food was very hygienic and the service was magnificent. They allotted separate tables for every patient and social distancing rules were followed. Further, there was a virus check for whoever entered the hospital. This was an important step taken care of by Cloudnine. Everything was very well managed in the hospital.
Being a doctor myself, I can say that the services at the Cloudnine hospital are very good. I moved back to India from England in February. I received most of my ante-natal care in Liverpool Women's Hospital, Liverpool, UK where I used to work as well. I heard very good things about Dr. Seema Sharma and Cloudnine Hospital on my return. On meeting Dr. Seema, I found that she is very professional and at the same time very approachable. She is simply great. To speak about the hospital, I got the best care possible, and as I can compare the same with NHS, England. I am happy to say that the care I received was of international standards. Sister Narinder and Sister Sapna along with the rest of the labor staff were very helpful, calm, and professional. In fact, everyone took the utmost care of my well-being. Our baby was also treated very well by Dr. Neeraj Goya and Dr. Sudhanshu Grover. All in all, everything was very great.Cloudnine provides a number of services exclusively because of the lockdown like video consultations, pick-up services, home delivery of medicines, and free home vaccination among others.
Stay safe and take care of your health. Don't panic and keep calm. Have faith in your doctor, they want the best for you. Stay strong, once your baby comes in your lap, you will realize that the pain was worth it. Epidural is a great thing and do consider it if your doctor advises you. Don't keep anything from your doctor and tell them everything. Think positive and keep positive. This might seem the worst of times to have a baby but honestly, it won’t be that hard. Trust on Cloudnine to help you sail through. All the best!
Well, you heard it from Dr. Amanbeer herself, and we can say that it was an absolute pleasure to host her in our midst. She is such a professional herself and further always had the right words on her mouth that not only made work around her easier but also fun. Dr. Amanbeer has boosted a lot of self-confidence into our staff while staying here and probably that is what we need the most during these treacherous times. We will look forward to meeting you again, Dr. Amanbeer. We hope you had an awesome experience on Cloudnine!Must Read: An Angel Arrives To Spread Love And Joy"Want to consult the best gynecologists in India?"
