Update on Your Body

Your uterus is now the size of a football and has reached midway between your navel and your sternum. You may experience some constipation. Continue to eat fiber-rich foods including oats, prunes and green leafy vegetables, in addition to drinking plenty of water to fuel your bowels. If you find yourself unable to manage your constipation, consult your doctor for an appropriate solution.

Symptoms such as heartburn and insomnia may continue through the next few weeks. You may begin to see new stretch marks as you gain more weight. You will also feel your baby move more often.

Update on Your Baby

This week, your baby’s skin changes from transparent to opaque, but still carries multiple folds and creases. As your baby gains more fat and becomes bigger, these folds and creases will fill out. Your baby’s hair has developed the colour and texture it will be at birth.

Your Baby’s Size

13.6 inches, or the size of a cauliflower.
