Fever is often linked with pregnancy. Fever is a protective mechanism of the body against infection. During fever, a person’s body temperature rises to 100.4°F (38 °C) or higher. The temperature rises so that it kills the foreign body causing infection.
During pregnancy, the immune system is weakened so that the body doesn’t treat the growing baby as a foreign element. The body becomes prone to infection such as cold and flu in pregnancy.
