Dr. Shilpa Kava is a renowned Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, known for her extensive clinical expertise in both fields. She completed her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore (Manipal University) and then went on to complete her Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, through all India quota from the renowned Delhi University. She has also acquired Post Graduate diploma in medical law and ethics from the world-renowned National Law School of India University, Bangalore. With a keen interest in skill development, she procured a fellowship in minimal access and pelvic surgery, from the Sunrise Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi and certification in Obstetric Ultrasound from the Fetal Foundation of India.

With a  wealth of experience spanning well over a decade, she has successfully  treated numerous patients in the realm of antenatal care, gynaecology and  adeptly managed the intricacies of labour ward situations. She is well known  for her quick decision-making capabilities in the most difficult clinical  situations.

A  proponent of vaginal delivery, her areas of expertise include high-risk  pregnancy care and management, handling complicated caesarean sections,  management of obstetric emergencies such as pre-eclampsia, postpartum  haemorrhage, shoulder dystocia and so on. Gynaecological procedures such as  medical management of abnormal uterine bleeding, hysterectomy, ovarian cyst  management, and management of ectopic pregnancy.

Dr.  Kava is also a dedicated educator, with a wide range of experience in  teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. She has presented numerous  research papers at national and international conferences and won prestigious  prizes for the same. She also has numerous publications in national and  international journals.
