Dr. Avani Hegde completed her MD in Paediatrics from the Advanced Paediatric Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh — the apex referral centre for paediatrics in India. She received the institutional bronze medal for her exemplary academic performance and research interest.

Pursuing her keen interest in paediatric and adolescent endocrine disorders, she went on to complete her sub-specialty training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, one of the largest paediatric referral centres in Karnataka. Her extensive medical training has provided her with exposure to a wide spectrum of paediatric and adolescent hormonal conditions. She is also a faculty member of the Indian Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology (ISPAE) Diabetes Education and Learning (IDEAL) module, aimed at training and encouraging diabetes educators.

Dr. Hegde was previously a faculty member at St. John’s Medical College. She has several publications to her credit, both national and international. She is well-known among children and parents for her dedicated and meticulous clinical care.
