"Intermenstrual bleeding or Metrorrhagia is when you have to bleed apart from your regular cycle that's in between your menstruation if you're bleeding it can be a spotting. It can be bleeding for a day or two but if it happens to happen in between your cycles it is intermenstral bleeding or Metrorrhagia. The most common causes are infections like cervicitis can cause intermenstrual bleeding. Any polyps in your cervix or uterus can cause intermenstrual bleeding. This is usually seen post-intercourse. So infections and polyps are the most common reasons apart from hormonal imbalance and intermenstrual bleeding. When you present with such bleedings in between your cycles get investigated like you know get an ultrasound scan done, get your hormonal testing done.
