Preventing Common Infections in Pregnancy

In this video, Dr. Shalini Chaudhary, Senior Consultant & Laparoscopic Surgeon at Cloudnine Hospital, Dwarka, talks about common infections during pregnancy and how to prevent them. She explains that lowered immunity in pregnancy increases the risk of respiratory infections, so avoiding crowded places, wearing a mask, and eating a healthy diet is important. Urinary infections are also common - pregnant women should avoid public toilets, stay hydrated, and pass urine frequently. She adds that vaginal fungal infections can cause discharge and itching and must be treated promptly to avoid complications for the baby. Dr. Shalini advises consulting a gynaecologist for any respiratory, urinary, or vaginal symptoms during pregnancy.
