It’s a misconception that the more the number embryos, more the chances of getting pregnant. If more than three embryos are transferred, then pregnancy rate does increase, but it is at the cost of multiple pregnancies. Multiple pregnancies are not encouraged much in IVF procedure, one healthy baby is what is aimed. Transferring more embryos also increases the risk of miscarriage, pre-mature birth, and weak health of the baby. It’s preferred to transfer one or two embryos.
