"The most miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, that is from the conception upto the 12 weeks of pregnancy and there are very less percentage of chances where the miscarriages occur from the 12 to 20 th week of pregnancy. Yes most of the miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, upto 12 weeks so if there are 2 or more miscarriages in a row, that is recurrent miscarriages. Recurrent pregnancy losses are not very common but among 5% of pregnancy it is seen. The causes as we discussed before could be one of the causes to have a recurrent miscarriage. If there is only single first miscarriage happened, we generally say it is a wastage of pregnancy. But if it is happening again and again it could be very traumatic for the mother, we try and investigate the case, what was the cause, which we generally do, if a doctor suggests, we do a hysterolaparoscopy, to see if the septum is there, the fibroids are there, or we can remove that, we are just removing the septate or correcting the shape of the uterus to plan for the next pregnancy. If it is happening with genetical cause, then definitely we are doing the karyotyping of the patients, of the parents to rule out the genetical cause"
