Is it difficult to get Pregnant after Miscarriage? | Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"First and foremost thing is once you have got pregnancy, you can get pregnant again, there is no infertility. So once you had a miscarriage, the first important thing is to rule out the cause of miscarriage. If you rule out the cause of miscarriage, via the investigation, we do the blood investigation or basic hormone profile, your thyroid, sugar, your prolactin levels and do something called as hysterosalpingography where we see the inside lining and the shape of the uterus. We do the basic ultrasound to know the fibroids or the polyps. Or we do the APLA tests. These are the basic tests that we do to figure out why dint this happen. If the basic correction of all this is done, we starts you on folic acid, multivitamin, if you have a hormonal imbalance in your hormones, we correct your thyroid, correct your PCOS. If we are able to do all that stuff, then definitely you can get pregnant next time"
Top 3 Causes of Miscarriage I Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"The miscarriages what we see on patient basis is around 15% of miscarriages are due to the wastages of pregnancy. The wastages of pregnancy means the pregnancy itself the gamete itself or the egg itself is not of a good quality . When the egg is not of a good quality, the body and the nature itself tries to refuse it, and try to not let it growth. These are the commonest reason of the miscarriages what we see. There could be other cause also, if you have some of the uterine anomalies. Uterine anomalies means if you have a septate uterus or a bicornuate uterus, you have incompetent cervix, you have something called as fibroids polyps or some of the major infections. These are the few causes of anatomical causes of miscarriage. They are causes which are medical causes of miscarriages. The medical causes of miscarriages are generally of your sugar levels are very high, you are diabetic or your thyroid is very high, you have PCOD or have hyperprolactinemia or you have obesity . Obesity and age plays a very important role in miscarriages. The third important cause of miscarriage is autoimmune disorders. Autoimmune disorders means APLA syndrome or Anti Phospholipids Antibody Syndrome, here in the common language what we see is the clotting of blood and that will not let the baby grow and that is one of the commonest we see now. There are certain percentage in pregnancy which is unexplained miscarriages, and after all investigations also we are not able to detect the cause of miscarriage"
How do I know if I'm an Infertile Female? | Signs of Infertility in females I Dr. Meghana D Sarvaiya
"Infertility is a major issue that we are seeing in today’s world. So if you have been having unprotected intercourse for a period of more than 1 year and still not pregnant or in an elderly or a high risk couple, for more than 6 months and there is no pregnancy, then you probably may be suffering from infertility. Infertility may be either a male infertility or a female infertility. So we get routine investigations done as a semen analysis in male, we find out if he is suffering from male infertility but in female infertility we see today is polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS. Other than that the other problems are the elderly or having thyroid problems, excessive weight gain, diabetes, high blood pressure to begin with. All these are common causes of infertility we see in today’s world. PCOS is one of the, major causes for infertility today. Signs and symptoms of PCOS we see are excessive weight gain, lot of acne on the face, hirsutism in the beard or in the midline in the body and very irregular cycle. They may be getting their cycles once in a month, also sometimes if not treated. So PCOD being one of the major causes needs to be treated and the treatment for infertility other than the routine medications and other things that we do is basically lifestyle changes that is maintaining a healthy body and a healthy mind, will lead us to less and less number of patients with PCOS and hence less number of infertile patients"
Female system and its functions I Dr. Meghana D Sarvaiya
"It comprises of the external and the internal organs. The internal comprises of the uterus which is also called as the womb which bears the children in future. The other organs are the both sides tubes which is the connection between the ovaries and the uterus, where the pregnancy actual forms and both ovaries which are the egg producing organs. From the ovaries the eggs get released and they are picked up in the tubes and that is how a pregnancy is formed"
How do you know if you have a weak uterus? I Dr. Meghana D Sarvaiya
"It is basically a uterus which loses its elasticity and may tend to fall outside the normal orifices. So here it is that along with the musculature which gets weakening, generally related to old age or very difficult deliveries, or a very difficult or prolonged labor the chances are that the uterus may come down and as a result you may feel a pressure while either passing motions or even urine. If any of these symptoms are there, you should be visiting your gynecologist and taking the necessary steps and treatment for the same. What you could do it before you visit the doctor is to do regular pelvic floor musculature exercises which are also called as Kegels exercises"
How can I make my uterus healthy? | Ways to care of your uterus? | Dr. Meghana D Sarvaiya
"Uterus is basically a palace in a woman’s body. It is the part or the palace where the future generations are going to nurture. It is very important for us to keep our uterus very healthy. It is also important that we should have a regular exercise schedule. We are so busy in our routine lives that exercise is the least thing or basically women keep themselves as the last. So the rest of the family or everything else comes in first. We have to have a healthy lifestyle. That would minimize the amount of outside and junk food and homemade and good food substances should be consumed more in quantity. Around 3 to 4 liters of water should be consumed, you should avoid holding urine for a long time as it results in urinary tract infection and causes us problems further. Also regular and yearly screening should be done"
