"If you have got some odor, that means that there is some infection, you need to visit your gynecologist for dieting the cause of infection and treat that. How can you improve your lifestyle and what can we do in our lifestyle to not have foul smelling discharge and not have infection again and again. So the first and foremost is that you have to maintain your hygiene. Secondly we can improve our lifestyle, means that you have to detect that you are not diabetes, patient who has diabetes has very high chances of getting such kind of infection. The lifestyle is ofcourse is very important, that you are eating good, you are sleeping good, not lot of stress which is not possible. So improve your dietary habits take more of probiotics that will improve or to maintain the flora. Probiotics means curds, if you have included lot of curd in the diet, it will help in maintaining the lining most important things is that if you have multiple partners, that is the most scary things of getting infection from your partners. So if you have multiple partners , then there is very high chance of you can get a vaginal infection. So always use protection while if you have multiple partner and if you have more frequent kind of a discharge, you are getting every 3 monthly or 6 monthly, you have to consult your doctor, you have to ask the are you diabetic or after your discharge is treated, you have to get your pap smear done to rule out any kind of chances"
Tips to maintain healthy feminine hygiene | Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"First you need to know if your discharge is normal. Many young girls come to the OPD, they are every young girls and say madam my discharge is abnormal, and when we examine it, it is perfectly normal to start. That is one of the commonest thing that you need to do that your discharge is a natural phenomenon and it is there to protect you from the infection. If you have such symptoms, if you get bad smelling discharge or curdy discharge and there is itching, boils, ulceration"
What are the different types of discharge in women? | Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"The type of discharge would be a normal physiological discharge, which is there in everybody’s body, which is a very natural phenomena. The abnormal kind of a discharge could be allergic or could be infective. When the doctor examines you they will be able to judge which kind of infection you have. The colour of the discharge frothiness or the curdiness or the of the discharge and those things. If you have a blood stained discharge or the the dark brown colour of discharge, please visit your doctor"
How do I know if my discharge is normal? | Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"This is a very natural phenomenon. It is there to lubricate or to prevent from having a further infection. So it will be in a physiological way or a natural way. It could be excessive when your body is ready to get pregnant or when your ovulation happens. It is generally excessive than the regular day of the month. So how do you differentiate these from a normal and abnormal discharge? An abnormal discharge will be associated with either too much excessive amount that you need to change when it will be associated with foul smell. There could be associated with a change in color of the discharge. Normally it is milkish or a clear watery in colour. If it is infected will be yellow or excessive curdy, or greenish or it could be frothy or it could be associated with lot of itching or lot of boils. That time you need to visit your doctor"
What are the side effects after having a Miscarriage? | Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"The side effect is first and foremost it is incomplete abortion. That the abortion did not happen completely, the products are remained inside. Second, it could be excessive bleeding. When we do the surgical procedure for the clearing of the product, it is not on everybody but there are few percentage like 1 or 2 % can have side effect of perforation of the uterus, or sepsis that can happen when you are not using a proper sterilized technique or there could be cervical injuries , when we use the instrument to dilate the cervix, there can be cervical injuries. There could be something called as Asherman's syndrome. Asherman's syndrome means when you have cleaned up the compete uterine cavity , you have landed up in some excessive cleaning of the uterus which can lead to the formation of the septas, that is in some band formation, which can further contribute to have not have pregnancy"
Can you have 2 miscarriage in a row? At what week do most miscarriage occur? | Dr. Pooja Vyas Bansal
"The most miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, that is from the conception upto the 12 weeks of pregnancy and there are very less percentage of chances where the miscarriages occur from the 12 to 20 th week of pregnancy. Yes most of the miscarriages occur in the first trimester of pregnancy, upto 12 weeks so if there are 2 or more miscarriages in a row, that is recurrent miscarriages. Recurrent pregnancy losses are not very common but among 5% of pregnancy it is seen. The causes as we discussed before could be one of the causes to have a recurrent miscarriage. If there is only single first miscarriage happened, we generally say it is a wastage of pregnancy. But if it is happening again and again it could be very traumatic for the mother, we try and investigate the case, what was the cause, which we generally do, if a doctor suggests, we do a hysterolaparoscopy, to see if the septum is there, the fibroids are there, or we can remove that, we are just removing the septate or correcting the shape of the uterus to plan for the next pregnancy. If it is happening with genetical cause, then definitely we are doing the karyotyping of the patients, of the parents to rule out the genetical cause"
