What does fluid in the Pelvic area mean? I Dr. Manjari Kulkarani
"The commonest pathologist where fluid is seen on the pelvic cavity are either the pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis or ectopic pregnancy. In pelvic inflammatory disease, it could be the purulent fluid, the patient has severe pain. In endometriosis it is usually the bloody fluid. In case of ectopic pregnancy"
What can cause blood in urine during pregnancy? I Dr. Manjari Kulkarani
"There are multiple reason for blood in the urine during pregnancy but the commonest among them and which are usually found are either urinary tract infection or stone or the calculus in urinary tract. Urinary tract infection can affect pregnancy because if it is very severe, it can give rise to premature delivery. So usually when we do the urine testing during pregnancy, if there are bacteria or pus cells found, we do the culture tests and treat it before the patient is symptomatic. Stones during pregnancy, if it is not symptomatic, need not be treated. But if they are there patient can get severe pain in abdomen, and they are difficult to diagnose in advanced pregnancy because they are not usually seen in ultrasound. So if the symptoms or the blood in the urine say that there is stone, the treatment usually is conservative. They do not affect the pregnancy directly. Because the patient is having severe pain, we need to treat them"
Common Symptoms of first week Pregnancy I Dr. Manjari Kulkarani
"The commonest symptoms of first week of pregnancy are nausea, vomiting, tenderness, repeated urination and laziness or sleepiness. The commonest among them is nausea , vomiting. Almost 80% of the patients will get nausea, vomiting during pregnancy"
Can you get pregnant 2 days before period? I Dr. Manjiri Kulkarani
"Ideally the ovulation occurs around the 14th day of the cycle in a regular period cycle. So obviously the egg is viable for 2 to 3 days and you cannot get pregnant just 2 days prior to the period. But this is possible only if your periods are regular. Those girls who have very irregular periods, they will not know which is the two day prior to the period unless they get their next menstrual cycle. So if you are 40 or 45 day cycle, you can ovulate as late as 20th or 25th day of the cycle. So on that day, on the 25th day it becomes unsafe because, it is just 2 days prior to a 28 day cycle and if you are not using a contraceptive, you can get pregnant at that time"
What is Pelvic Organ Prolapse? I Dr. Girija N Wagh
"Pelvic organ prolapse is a disorder wherein the entire genital tract that constitutes of the womb, the vagina, the cervix , starts descending downwards, that is outside the outside opening that is the introitus. This can happen due to increased pressure in the tummy or it can happen because of a disease process or laxity of certain important ligaments"
How common is Pelvic Organ Prolapse & what it feels like inside? | Dr. Girija N Wagh
"About 10 to 50 % of women seem to be suffering from this particular disorders in various ranges and severity. Many of them are not very keen on showing a doctor and suffer in silence. They would have a laxity of their vagina, they would have a swelling coming out of them, they may have loss of control of their urination and defecation, that is passing stools. So all these situations in various grade of severity, sometimes the entire womb along with its contents or the surrounding structures may be coming out of their body. So the incidence is about 10 to 50% of the general population. There are certain symptoms that would every woman should be aware and be conscious about. There can be laxity, sometimes you may be passing gas without control, you may be passing urine without and you may not be able to contain your urine for a long period of time, there can be a mass coming out of your body, there can be a chronic back ache, there can be difficulty while having sexual contact, all these conditions signify prolapse, that is prolapse of the genital organs or the pelvic organs prolapse"
