  • For protein, include more fish, chicken and legumes like chickpeas and beans.
  • Include many colors with fresh fruits and veggies.
  • Incorporate quinoa and other whole grains like red rice, ragi, etc.
  • Consume healthy fats from seeds, nuts and avocado.
  • Limit red meat consumption to once a week.
  • Avoid processed and packaged food and opt for homecooked food.
  • Limit consumption of coffee as more than five cups of coffee can reduce chances of IVF success rate by 50%.
  • Reduce alcohol intake. A beer or a glass of wine is okay once in a while, but if you are taking fertility drugs, follow your doctor’s advice, as it can interact and lead to side effects. You should not do rigorous exercise during the IVF cycle as it can stress the body. You can continue your exercise routine with a healthy BMI (Body mass index). However, taking up running for many km is not advised as it can stress the reproductive system. It is best to limit the activity and instead take up walks, light jogging or cycling. Intense activities like HIIT and polymeric should be avoided. If you want to add an alternate routine, try yoga.

  • Certain soaps, moisturisers, cosmetics, etc., contain benzophenone, parabens and triclosan. So read the ingredients before use.
  • Avoid nail polish as it contains formaldehyde.
  • Food packages that have phenols and BPA.
  • Non-stick vessels that have perfluorinated compounds.
  • Medication coatings, plastic, etc., that have phthalates.
  • Meat, dairy and more that contain dioxins.

Find techniques that can reduce stress and improve chances of IVF success. That also helps promote better physical and mental health, providing the optimal environment for a conducive pregnancy.
